According to the web site, this is done using Microsoft Silverlight : "a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C#, Python, and Ruby, and integrates with existing Web applications. Silverlight supports fast, cost-effective delivery of high-quality video to all major browsers running on the Mac OS or Windows."

Personally, I have been using a flipping book Flash component from flippingbook.com for my online magazine projects. So far, I am impressed by the cross-platform capabilities offered by Flash. Microsoft Silverlight may offer ease of development through the flexible programming model on .NET platform, but I will be redundant to try it if I were to forgo the Linux community now.
